Requesting the PM to assign the PPCs to issue Approval for infrastructure investment projects in economic zones.

It is one of the recommendations that the Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr Ho Quoc Dung at the meeting with the Consulting team of the Coastal Central Region’s Coordinating Board led by Dr Tran Du Lich.

An overview of the meeting

Under planning, Nhon Hoi Economic Zone is identified as a key part, a, urban – industry – service – tourism of the Central Vietnam Key Economic Region. At present, there are registered 60 projects with total capital of over VND 38,378 billion in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone; of which there are 12 foreign direct invested projects with capital of USD 530 million (accounting for 25.5% of the total capital). In the first six months of this year, disbursement of 60 projects is approximately VND 1,522 billion (rising 39.6% compared with the same period last year).

At the meeting, the PPC requested the Consulting team make a proposal to the central government so that Nhon Hoi economic zone is added to the list of the key coastal economic zones in the stage 2016-2020 and policies and incentive schemes are created in order to attract more investment in the economic zones and lure eligible investors inside and outside the country.
